The Santa Fe Springs Carbon Operation designs and produces ceramic and carbon high temperature composites for aerospace and automotive applications. The Ceramic Composites applications include turbine engine components, industrial products and launch vehicles. The Carbon Composites business involves wet and dry friction applications with the focus on aircraft and specialty products. We offer a competitive benefits and compensation package.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Review engineering documents for product integrity, manufacturability, tool & fixture requirements, etc.

-Promote safety and comply with all EH&S and quality goals within the department.

-Plan facility improvements for effective equipment utilization and product processing.

-Plays a key role for lean manufacturing, six sigma; and applying tools for continuous improvement projects or events.

-Integrate new equipment into production, and transition developmental programs into production.

-Troubleshoot production equipment as applicable.

-Develop and implement custom tools and fixtures.

-Develop and sustain manufacturing documentation.

-Promote cohesion between groups within the departments and within the facility.

-Play a lead role in training activities for new procedures, equipment and processes.

-Support operations with problem solving of manufacturing/quality initiatives or issues. --Sustain instituted production systems using MES

-Complete tasks as assigned by the department management team.

 

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelors of Science degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering

- 5 years of machine shop experience with conventional and CNC machines and CNC programming

-Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software for use in tooling and fixturing design.

-Composites experience is highly desirable.

-Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)

-Proven abilities with Lean Manufacturing and application of its tools on projects or events.

-Experience in written proposals and facility/floor plans or equipment layouts.

-Ability to problem solve, exercising creativity with practical solutions
